Happy 65th Birthday - Commisioned Card

Evening Crafters

A gentleman in work asked me to make a card for his wife's 65th Birthday, he wanted something different and with flowers, I made a mistake of asking questions like what is her favourite flower and colour and he was unsure, it does not help that he is colour blind as well.  Anyway I directed him Pinterest so he could give me some idea of what card he wanted.

I made an 8 x 8 personalised card, with flowers and a doily and some swirls and a box to present the card in, his wife loved the card.

Items used to make the card are below:
8 x 8 Card Blank
Pink Paper from stock
Doily from Birds SVG website cut out on my Scan N Cut machine
Swirls  from Birds SVG cut out on my Scan N Cut machine
Flowers made using a flower die and pink card stock
Butterfly die
Silver gems for the finishing touches

Sweet Sixteen

Hello there crafty friends and followers, I'am back today with a card for my niece who has turned 16. For this card I have used the IndigoBlu stamp that come free with a magazine and versacolor inks, I got the background colours idea from a gift tag I see on Pinterest.

Method:
I started with an A5  piece of Neenah card and made the background by using ink dusters with the ink in a diagonal line and overlapped the colours, I then stamped the Juliet image using onyx black versafine ink, then I re stamped the image, this is where a misti stamping tool comes in handy, with a versamak ink pad and added clear embossing power to the image.  Then cut the card down to 17 x 11cm. Then I mounted the stamped image onto black, yellow and pink card.  Next I inked the 8 x 8 card using the same method and inks I used to make the background. Then I added the finish touches to the card with some die cut butterflies and flowers, some Nuvo drops and the die cut words from black card.

Products I have used

  • IndigoBlu Stamp -Juliet
  • Onyx black versafine ink
  • Versamarker ink pad
  • Misti stamping tool
  • Papermania Clear Embossing powder
  • Ink Dusters
  • Crafters Companion Neenah Classic Crest Card
  • 8 x 8 card blank
  • Pink, yellow & black card stock

Butterfly Card

Hello Everyone

A girl in work had her birthday recently and her favourite colour is purple, so I decided to make the Butterfly card that I made back in May in purple.  This card seems very popular at the moment and cheers everyone up.

This card was made with the stamps by Chloe Butterfly stamp, die and stencil.

I started off with an 71/4" white square card, I taped the stencil in place on the card using scotch removable tape, then used the blending brush and Versa Amethyst ink I brushed over the stencil.

Then using the butterfly stamp I stamped the image in Versa Amethyst ink and used the die to cut out the stamped image.I then cut out a rectangle of silver card and mounted the Butterfly image to the silver card.

I cut out a large circle in silver and white, I then stamped Happy Birthday on the white circle - this was a stamp that come free with a magazine and then added some purple gems and some silver border peel offs to the edge of the card.

This card can be made in any colour of your choice.

Finished card below - which she loved 😄

Happy Birthday Dad

Well last week was a busy week for Birthdays. First I had my Nieces birthday which was my previous post the Unicorn card and this time is was my Dad and Father in laws birthday.

For my Dad's card,  I took to Pinterest for some inspiration for a different type of Golf Card and come acrossed a Golf Cart which I decided to make, my cricut come out of hibernation and the a Golf Cart was made.  The SVG file came from SVG Cuts.Com.

The Golf Cart card each section was cut out in different coloured card as per the instructions and then each section was glued together, I used my dots embossing board for the golf ball effect and used brown and green ink to make the golf balls look dirty.

My Father-in-law's card was made with his ancestors in mind, his Grandparents were Swedish so the My Favorite Things Viking Die-namics set was was ideal and he loved it.

I cut out a circle to add more effect to the card, and then tore a bit of scrap paper to give me a hill shape and then used the ink dusters with green and grass green versamark ink pads to create the hills, then used Grey for the hills and sky blue & blue for the sky.  I then die cut out some clouds shapes and tree shapes and the word dad.  I coloured the viking using Spectrum noir pencils , the greeting was part of the MFT Viking stamp set.

They both loved their cards and had good birthdays.😄

See you again soon and thanks for stopping by.

Unicorn Shaker Card

Hello Everybody, today I have been working on my nieces birthday card, like all young girls at the moment she loves Unicorns, and this is what I come up with a Unicorn Shaker Card.

Firstly I stamped the Unicorn on Nennah cardstock an used my Spectrum Noir Pencils to colour the Unicorns tail and mane in Rainbow colours, the then die cut the unicorn out.

Next I cut a piece of card 20.5 x 14.5 and then picked out 3 colour ink pads to make the rainbow background - I used Versa Color Narcissus, Petal Pink and Turquoise and then an ink duster to blends the colours, then I used Crafters Companion Spray and Sparkle so the background has a glittery look .

Then I die cut out the rainbow and clouds from my dies, next I placed the items on the card to see where to die cut the cloud.

Once the cloud was cut, I added a square of acetate to the back of the card using foam pads, filed with sequins and love hearts and stuck another piece of acetate over the cloud.

To finish of I stamped words onto the clouds and die cut a number 8 and added sequins.

Hope you like the card, thank you for stopping by and see you all soon x

I would like to share with you all a card I made for my mum's birthday that was at the end of June,it was my first time playing with Zig markers and the watercolour brush.

I made this card for my mum's birthday using Honeydoo craft Spring Flowers stamps, Moroccan Quatrefoil stencil for the background, Versa colour ink pads and Zig Brush Markers.

I think the yellow and orange flowers go together so well and make a lovely Summer month birthday card.

Saturday, 12 May 2018

Hello Everyone, I have had a busy month with making cards due to Birthdays all within days if each other. The first one I made was for my fabulous friend and craft buddy Jo. I made this card using her favourite colours and the Stamps by Chloe Butterfly stamp, die and stencil.

I forgot to take step by step photos but this card is easy to make.

I started off with an 71/4" white square card, using a Blending brush and Lime Versa colour ink pad I distressed the edges an once it was dry I taped the stencil in place on the card using scotch removable tape still using the blending brush and lime ink I brushed over the stencil.

Next step was mounted the white card on to black glitter card, then using the butterlfy stamp I stamped the image in lime ink and used the die to cut out the stamped image and also mounted this on to black glitter card.

I was lucky enough to have some lime green card stock so I cut out 3 circles using the stitched circle die I cut out a large circle in green an two smaller ones, on in black an one in white. I then stamped Happy Birthday on the white circle - this was a stamp that come free with a magazine.

This card can be made in any colour of your choice.

Finished card below - which she loved 😊
